Are you looking for some great kids shows for your toddler or preschooler on Amazon Prime Video? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
I’ve done some extensive research on Prime Video shows for toddlers. (read: I let my 3 year old watch too much screen time.)
And a lot of their Prime Original shows are really good!
Prime Video also has quite a few good shows for preschoolers from other networks, too.
Here are my daughter’s favorites that she recommends.

1. Tumble Leaf
Tumble Leaf is a very cute Amazon Prime Original show centered around a fox named Fig that lives in a lovely place called Tumble Leaf.
There are a few other little characters that all seem to be about 5 to 7 years old. They’re all named after types of trees, too.
Every episode starts out with something new in “the finding place” that has washed up on shore to a little crab. The crab throws it up to the finding place and then Fig finds it and talks about it.
The voices on it are very calming compared to most cartoons. And they have nature and ocean sounds sometimes. They really create a whole mood of a magical forest by the sea. I think that’s my favorite part.
Tumble Leaf has won many Daytime Emmy awards, and I can see why! I think it’s one of the best Prime Video shows for toddlers.
2. Pete the Cat
I actually had never heard of Pete the Cat before I saw the Amazon Prime Original show. Pete the Cat is a popular kids books series.
Pete the Cat doesn’t actually talk, but all of his friends and animals around him do. He’s one cool cat, and I guess that means he doesn’t talk.
Pete and his friends also learn life lessons like you have to take three bites of a new food before you decide you don’t like it. (Which is great for a toddler to learn if they’re a picky eater.)
There are only 9 episodes of this show but it’s still a fun show for your little one. And a good way to get them interested in the Pete the Cat Books.
3. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood
Daniel Tiger is an absolute favorite in our house. We have so many Daniel Tiger toys.
Daniel learns lots of life lessons through little songs. My daughter was singing them even when she was a 2 year old. We still sing them now on the verge of being 4 years old!
If you only watch one of these kids shows on Amazon Prime, make it Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Highly recommended for the youngest toddlers through kindergarten age.
Unfortunately, you can’t get the full show on Prime Video anymore. They only have the first two seasons available for Prime members now.
We just got the PBS Kids channel through Prime Video so we can watch all of Daniel Tiger and a lot of other shows that aren’t available on just Prime. I highly recommend adding it on.
4. Wishenpoof
Wishenpoof is a show I kept seeing advertised in front of Daniel Tiger, and I thought it was probably some cheap kids show Amazon threw together. One day, Toot decided she wanted to watch it so I put it on.
Turns out, it’s actually pretty cute!
The main girl, Bianca, has wish magic where she can make things happen or appear by saying what she wishes then “Wishenpoof!”
My daughter has seriously tried to Wishenpoof things and then got mad when they didn’t happen. lol So we got to have a conversation about how magic is pretend.
They also do little lessons in this show too as all good preschool shows should. One that I remember was about getting mad at your mom and how to deal with those emotions.
There are currently 4 seasons of Wishenpoof so you’ll have quite a few to entertain your kids if they get hooked on it.
5. The Stinky and Dirty Show
I kept seeing ads for the Stinky and Dirty show too because Amazon is very good at advertising their own shows. We gave it a try one day and she enjoyed it.
Stinky is a garbage truck and Dirty is a Backhoe. They do little construction jobs and they have fun being stinky and well… dirty.
They do a lot of problem solving so there is some learning to this show too.
This TV show is also based on kids books. They have 4 seasons already too so you have plenty of material if your toddler gets obsessed.
6. Creative Galaxy
I LOVE CREATIVE GALAXY. There I said it!
I think this was the first Prime Original show we watched and it’s really well done. They even got a lot of the voice actors from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
Arty is the main character and he’s a little alien guy. He has a sidekick named Epiphany who is like a little floaty alien blob.
They go to different planets that specialize in different kinds of art like the painting planet, the paper planet, the music planet, and I think there’s an acting/drama planet. There are a bunch.
Then they do little crafts and make or build something as part of the episode. They talk about color theory, music, and art history. It’s a very educational show.
They also have a live action segment where real kids do some sort of craft and they show you how to do it at home.
There are 3 seasons of Creative Galaxy so far and I can’t wait for more. Samantha Bee plays the mom too! I love her!
I’d say this is one of the best Prime Video shows for preschoolers.
7. Lost in Oz
Ok, so Lost in Oz isn’t really a preschool show. I think it’s meant for older kids like maybe 7 to 12. But my 3 year old and her BFF love it.
It’s kind of a retelling of Wizard of Oz in a full TV Show. But Dorothy seems to be younger than in the original movie. And there’s more to the story.
There’s a lot more story to this show than the others because it’s one that you need to watch from episode one.
There’s a story arc to it so toddlers won’t really be able to keep up with what’s happening. But preschoolers might be interested in a longer story like this.
There are two seasons of Lost in Oz so far.
8. Super Simple
Super Simple Songs started as a YouTube channel by some teachers from Japan. They noticed that some nursery rhymes and kids songs were too complex for preschoolers. So they made their own simple songs.
They don’t just make songs though! They started making little tv series that have short episodes. They’re about 4 to 7 minutes each.
Amazon Prime has song compilations by Super Simple Songs and they have the serial shows too.
The song compilations are about 40 minutes long so they’re great if you need to put on an educational show while you cook dinner or just need a break.
Our favorite Super Simple Videos on Prime Video include:
- Baby Shark and more kids songs
- Humpty Dumpty and more kids songs
- Carl’s Car Wash
- The Bumble Nums
- Mr. Monkey, Monkey Mechanic
There are more shows but these are just our favorites.
9. Blippi
Blippi started as a YouTube Channel too. But Stevin (the guy who created and plays Blippi) reformatted it for Amazon Prime Video.
Blippi is a goofy guy who wears glasses and suspenders. He sings silly songs. (My favorite is The Boat Song.) And he plays on indoor playgrounds and does little science experiments and things.
Stevin John started his YouTube channel for his nephews but is amazing at marketing. He has a background in it. So his channel grew and now he even has merchandise and his show is on Amazon Prime.
Blippi is educational with topics ranging from construction equipment to fruits and veggies, and especially colors. You’ve probably heard the Excavator Song.
10. Sid the Science Kid
Sid is a preschooler with a love of science. The structure of the show is based on his whole day from wake up to school to bedtime.
Each show has a live action sequence where they show you how to do a simple science experiment you can try at home with your kids.
And there is always a song. Suzy the teacher sings a song about whatever scientific topic they’re working on. They’re actually pretty good songs. I particularly like the rain cloud song.
I like that they explain science in terms toddlers and preschoolers understand. I’ve talked about Sid before as one of our favorite educational shows because I just love the idea of this show.
You can get some STEM toys for toddlers to go along with watching Sid too!
The first season of Sid the Science Kid is included with Prime Video. So you have 20 episodes of preschool science fun.
You can get more Sid the Science Kid with a PBS Kids channel subscription through Amazon. No cable needed.
11. Bubble Guppies
Bubble Guppies is centered around a preschool of guppies (ha! get it? a school of fish?) And they learn and pretend and play just like real kids.
Except they live underwater and they have tails.
Think of it as a more educational Spongebob. lol (PS Spongebob is also available on Prime Video)
The first two seasons of Bubble Guppies are available to Prime subscribers. It’s a Noggin show so if you want the whole thing you can subscribe to the Noggin channel through Amazon.
12. Sesame Street
Everyone loves Sesame Street, right? (Ok maybe not Phoebe Buffay but whatever.)
Do I even need to explain the benefits of Sesame Street to you? You already know.
So you can watch 5 seasons of Sesame Street on Prime Video. They’re from 2005 to 2010.
If you want to watch the newest episodes or older episodes you can with an HBO subscription though Prime Channels. (I have it!)
13. Dinosaur Train
You’ve probably seen Dinosaur Train on PBS. It’s a cute animated show for toddlers and preschoolers about dinosaurs that all ride a train together.
There are lots of dinosaur facts and even a paleontologist (who my mom thinks is the best thing ever.)
So if your kid is obsessed with dinosaurs, this is the show for you.
The first two seasons of Dinosaur Train are available for Prime members. You can get seven more seasons with a PBS Kids channel subscription.
14. Thomas and Friends Classic
Do you remember Thomas the Tank Engine from when we were kids? He’s still around and kids still love to watch trains with creepy faces.
All 7 seasons of the classic show are available on Prime Video. There’s an updated version that’s more recent but you have to buy that.
Toot seems to be just fine with the classic Thomas the train. There are also several Thomas movies on Prime Video.
15. Fireman Sam
My BFF told me about Fireman Sam. Her son loves it.
As you may have guessed, it’s all about a fireman named Sam who helps his community and promotes fire safety.
We haven’t watched very much of it, but from what I’ve seen it’s a pretty good show. My BFF recommends it.
All 8 seasons are on Prime Video.
16. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie was one of my favorite books as a kid. Amazon made it into a show!
This Amazon Prime Original show for preschoolers is all about that mouse and his friends. There’s a pig, a moose, a dog, and a cat.
All of the other characters are based on the other books in the series like If You Give a Pig a Pancake.
They get into hi-jinks because of a series of events just like in the books. It’s a cute little animated show.
There are 4 seasons out now, and I think they’re making more. It’s an Amazon Original so every episode comes with Prime.
17. Room on the Broom
Okay so Room on the Broom is just a half hour special. It isn’t a full tv series. But it’s so worth watching with your kids.
My 3 year old absolutely loves it and wants to watch it over and over. I think we first introduced it to her when she was 2 years old.
It’s an animated short based on the book of the same name. All of the voice actors are popular actors you know. Gillian Anderson (I’ve stanned her since I was 12) plays the witch.
If I need to get a half hour of quiet time to myself, all I need to say is “Alexa, play Room on the Broom on Prime Video.”

It was the opposite for us. We didn’t know he had books so then we had to get all of them at the library.
