How to Make the Feed the Ducks Sensory Bin
Grab your green foam sheets and scissors and cut out 5 to 6 lily pads.
Foam sheets are a great option for creating detail in water sensory bins. You can cut them like paper but they are water resistant and will float.

Next, grab your large sensory bin or two smaller ones. Add water and as many rubber ducks as you have.
My 15 month old twins are both obsessed with ducks so I added quite a few.
We regularly head down to our local waterfront to feed the ducks, so when they first showed an interest I bought then a bunch of rubber ducks that squeak when squeezed for the bath. They absolutely adore them so I knew this sensory bin would be a hit.

When I take my twins to feed the ducks, I do the feeding and while they do the giggling and squealing. So they were extra excited for this sensory bin because I told them that they could feed the ducks.
I add some wine corks as pretend food and a few slotted spoons and mini strainers for them to use to scoop them up and pretend to feed the ducks.

Fine Motor Fun
This was a great fine motor pretend play activity for my toddlers. They absolutely adored scooping up the wine corks and pretending to feed them to the ducks.

Pretend Play for Toddlers
Simple pretend play activities for toddlers are a great way to help your little one make sense of their world.

They are also a wonderful way to support language development. Even though my twins only have less than 20 words, they were babbling away during this activity and I, of course, narrated everything we did!
