If you’re hosting a gender reveal party, you’ll need some cute snacks to serve to your guests. Check out these cute pink and blue pretzels that are easy to make!

You can mix up the designs how ever you want. I love the little feet candies. But if you just want to do sprinkles and stripes, that will work too.

You can get the chocolate molds for the baby feet here. They aren’t very expensive and they look really cute. You could even do just little chocolates as part of your snacks.

Of course, these pretzels will work for a baby shower too. Even if you know the gender of the baby, you can still do pink and blue or choose another color to match. Like blue and green or pink and yellow.

So if you want to reuse this recipe for your baby shower, just switch up the colors. Or keep them pink and blue. I think they’d be cute even if you know it’s a boy or a girl.

These gender reveal party snacks are really easy to eat too. I know sometimes you can go to a party that has messy snacks that require lots of napkins. And having finger foods means you don’t need forks.

A gender reveal party doesn’t have to be a huge ordeal. We didn’t ask for gifts and we didn’t serve a meal. Just a couple of snacks.

And it didn’t last very long. Just about an hour.

If you don’t want to deal with cake or cupcakes, these pink and blue pretzels would be fine on their own for a small gathering of close family and friends to reveal your baby’s gender.

You don’t need a cake for every event. Especially if you’re planning on having more than one baby shower. You’ll be completely over cake by the time your baby is born.

How to Make Gender Reveal Pretzels:

1. Melt the candy

Melt the candy coating according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick.

You can add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.

Pour the melted candy over the pretzel

2. Pour over the pretzels

Pour candy coating over two-thirds of the pretzel rod and shake gently to remove excess.

If applying sprinkles, do so immediately rotating the pretzel rods to coat all sides.

Larger sprinkles work best if placed individually.

3. Place Pretzel on wax paper

Place pretzel rod on waxed paper or cooling rack. Wax paper makes it easier to release after the candy coating is set.

Use a spoon to drizzle pink or blue melted candy

4. Do secondary pink or blue candy coating

If dipping with additional colored candy melts, allow initial candy coating to set completely.

Then, use a spoon or fork to drizzle candy coating over the pretzel rods.

Before the pretzel sets, gently pick it up and move to clean wax paper.

use a toothpick to drizzle melted candy

5. Let the pretzel rods dry

Let pretzel rods dry completely before packaging or serving.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Placing in the refrigerator may cause the pretzel to soften.

Also, yes I know how the idea of gender reveal parties has gotten out of hand, and there’s more to life than the binary boy and girl. And that colors shouldn’t be gendered.

But it’s fun to celebrate little things especially if you’re only going to do this pregnancy thing once or twice in your life.

And if your child comes out as trans, have another party no matter how old they are! Celebrating is celebrating!
