I know my four year old doesn’t know who most of these celebrities are, but at least it’s fun for me.
The best part of these videos is that they’re free.
The Hula Hoopin’ Queen read by Oprah Winfrey
Hula Hoopin’ Queen is a cute story. My four year old loved it.
Description: “Kameeka yearns to continue her hula hooping competition with her rival, Jamara, rather than help prepare for Miz Adeline’s birthday party, and “the itch” almost ruins the party before the girls learn who the real winner is.”
Snappsy the Alligator (Did Not Ask to be in this Book) read by David Harbour
David Harbour is on Stranger Things and he’s best known as Hellboy.
Snappsy the Alligator is one of my daughter’s favorite books. We’ve had it for years.
It’s fun to see it read this way with the little animations.
Description: “Snappsy the alligator is having a normal day when a pesky narrator steps in to spice up the story. Is Snappsy reading a book … or is he making CRAFTY plans? Is Snappsy on his way to the grocery store … or is he PROWLING the forest for defenseless birds and fuzzy bunnies? Is Snappsy innocently shopping for a party … or is he OBSESSED with snack foods that start with the letter P? What’s the truth?”
Carla’s Sandwich read by Allison Janney
I love Allison Janney. The West Wing is amazing and I love her on Mom.
Description: “Lively illustrations help showcase the book’s messages of acceptance, tolerance, individuality, and creativity, and the funny plot and authentic dialogue are sure to make this tale a favorite among elementary school children. Carla’s creative sandwich solutions provide young chefs-to-be with the inspiration to create sandwich masterpieces of their own.”
The Elves and the Shoemaker read by Chrissy Metz
I love Chrissy Metz on This is Us. Kate is my favorite character!
Description: “Here is the classic tale of elfin magic, loved by generations of children and made new by an artist of international acclaim. Jim LaMarche’s stunning paintings, reminiscent of his earlier work in The Rainbabies, are the perfect compliment to this favorite Grimm fairy tale.”
As Fast as Words Could Fly read by Dulé Hill
You probably know Dulé Hill from Psych, but I know him from Suits. Suits is one of my all time favorite shows. He was also on The West Wing.
Description: “A thirteen-year-old African American boy in 1960s Greenville, North Carolina, uses his typing skills to make a statement as part of the Civil Rights movement. Based on true events.”
Arnie the Doughnut read by Chris O’Dowd
Chris O’Dowd has a gorgeous Irish accent. You’ve probably seen him in Bridesmaids or The IT Crowd.
Description: “At first glance, Arnie looks like an average doughnut – round, cakey, iced and sprinkled, with a hole in the middle. He was made by one of the best bakeries in town, and admittedly his sprinkles are candy-colored. Still, a doughnut is just a doughnut, right?
WRONG! Not if Arnie has anything to say about it. And, for a doughnut, he sure seems to have an awful lot to say. Can Arnie change the fate of all doughnuts – or at least have a hand in his own future?”
Harry the Dirty Dog read by Betty White
Who doesn’t love Betty White? She’s a national treasure.
And she’s reading one of the most popular books! My daughter loves this book.
Description: “Harry is a white dog with black spots who absolutely, positively hates to take a bath. After a day of adventure, Harry gets so dirty that he no longer looks like a white dog with black spots. Now he looks like a black dog with white spots!”
