Mother’s Day is for YOU. You can buy a gift for yourself, and it will be exactly what you want or need.
Whatever you buy doesn’t even have to be from your kids. It can just be a congrats on surviving another year gift from you to you.
Let’s look at some gift ideas for you.

Should I buy my own gift for Mother’s Day?
YES. This is your day. You should pick out exactly what you want to celebrate.
If you have a baby, toddler, or small child that isn’t capable of picking out or buying a gift for you, someone is going to have to buy your gift from your kid.
Another adult (like their dad) might be willing to buy a gift, but they won’t always get what you want.
My husband didn’t get me anything for my first two Mother’s Days and it was a disaster.
So buy your own gift or at least pick it out and hand it to someone to buy for you.
Here are some good ideas for your Mother’s Day gift.

1. Books or an e-Reader
I love reading. I have a Kindle Paperwhite and I love it. The back light on it isn’t too harsh but I can read in bed without a lamp on and without a book falling on my head. It’s pretty lightweight.
Oh and now they’re waterproof! So you can take it in the bath with you. I’m so jealous because I bought mine before they made it waterproof.
If you’re more of a book-book person, I get that. I love physical books, too. It just feels nice to hold a hard cover book and to smell the pages. Even if I never read them, I still like owning them. They spark joy.
Of course, you’ll actually need to carve out some time to get some reading done. With babies and toddlers, it can be hard to actually pick up a book.
I love audiobooks for when I want to multitask. I get more cleaning done when I have an audiobook to listen to. They’re also great for driving (unless your kid has learned to talk, then good luck paying attention to it.) And I workout while listening to audiobooks.
Audible is my favorite place to get audiobooks because they have literally everything (plus some exclusives and originals)
2. A Custom Necklace with Your Child’s Photo
Wear your favorite photo of your kids on your necklace. This is one of my favorite photos of Toot when she was 9 months old.
You can customize it however you want. You can even add their name to it or anything you’d like. It’s completely personalized.
3. New Clothes
Picking out a new outfit is so much fun. So head out to your favorite store to try on some clothes and make yourself feel fancy.
Trying on is not my thing. I don’t like clothes shopping. I just buy all of my clothes on Amazon or the Kohls website. I’m pretty good at guessing which size I am based on the measurements.
If you’re going to shop online or even in the store, you should get Ebates (aka Rakuten) so you can save some extra money.
It also works at JCPenney, American Eagle, Express and a whole bunch of other stores. And that’s just the in-store cashback. You can get cashback online at SO many stores.
4. A Coloring Book
Coloring is very calming and soothing. Especially when you can relate to the pictures. lol There are mom life coloring books that are fairly inexpensive and I love them.
You can also get some fancy colored pencils to go with it. Just hide them from your kids.
5. New Coffee Mugs
If you have a favorite thing, it’s on a coffee mug. Friends is one of my all time favorite shows, and I’m getting myself this mug for Mother’s Day.
I love mugs but I also have a hard time keeping my coffee warm while dealing with my toddler. So I also have these travel mugs that keep it warm for like 8 hours and they’re self sealing so they don’t spill. You can literally throw them and they won’t spill.
For keeping regular mugs warm, I have this mug warmer. It’s great for your desk at work. I wouldn’t keep it on while you have a small kid running around though. It gets hot.
6. A Mom’s Night Out
You might have to plan this one way in advance with your friends. But it’s so nice to go out with your friends with no kids and just have fun. You deserve a break from being a mom.
There’s no need to get blasted drunk at a bar (unless you want to. Then go for it.) You could just go to a Chili’s and have margaritas and appetizers.
Or plan something extravagant like a wine tour or a weekend away with your besties. Even just booking a hotel room for a night would be a fun girls night. It’s like a sleepover!
Obviously, if we’re still stuck in our houses by Mother’s Day, you’ll have to make much later plans.
7. A Robot Vacuum
Wanna really splurge on yourself for Mother’s Day? Get a robot vacuum so you can lounge while your robot cleans all of the Cheerios out of the carpet.
Or you can just get two things done at once. Let it vacuum while you do dishes or something. Let’s be honest though, I’m sitting on the couch.
8. An Instant Pot
Ok so we’re splurging but not too much. There’s a really good deal on Instant Pots right now. And I love this thing!
I have a 3 quart (the smallest one) and it’s fine for our family of three. The only problem I’ve run into is most recipes online are made for the 6 quart so I’ve overfilled my pot a couple of times.
But I love that it does so much and everything I make in it is really good and healthy.
9. A foot bath
I’ve had a foot bath on my wishlist forever. Imagine after a long day of wrangling tiny monsters you get to sit down and get a foot massage with heat and red light therapy. So relaxing.
10. A Pretty Journal
A journal is cheaper than therapy. You can use it to write down all of your thoughts and frustrations. Or use it as a memory journal just so you don’t forget all of the things that happened when your kids were young.
There are so many different pretty covers. It’s hard to choose one. But it’s so nice to just write.
