How I Made Money in My Second Month of Blogging

Well, it was a busy month! I’ve been working my booty off. I am actually making money, and that’s awesome. I did go a little crazy on buying courses this month, but I’m hoping that will have a great return on investment. So without further ado, let’s take a look at what happened on the blog in October! (My second month of blogging!)

How I Made Money in my Second Month of Blogging | October 2016 blog income report | make money blogging, blogging tips

Income

Ads: $2. I joined about halfway through the month and haven’t put them everywhere yet. Also, I don’t have the mobile ads activated because I felt they were too intrusive. I don’t know if I’ll stick with them. My RPM has dropped to zero, and I’m not happy.

Sponsored Content: $0. But I got free product.

Affiliates: $196. This is where I made all of my money. I’ll break it down for you.

  • Zazzle: $76 (Please note that I’ve been on Zazzle for years so this isn’t specific to my blog. I’m including it because I have had a lot of traffic from my Ultimate Guide to Earning Extra Money with Zazzle post.)
  • Amazon: $6
  • Ebates: $88
  • ShareASale: $26

Free Product/Credit: $209. This isn’t actual income but, hey, it’s worth something.

  • Tailwind credit: $30
  • JORD Frankie 35 Series Watch: $179

Expenses

Courses & Ebooks: $302

  • Book Boss: $197. This is an amazing course and I highly recommend it if you want to create your own ebook and have a successful launch.
  • Genius Blogger Toolkit: $58. I got the affiliate discount.
  • Daily Productivity Guide for Bloggers: $47. I, unfortunately, bought this before I knew it was in the Genius Blogger Toolkit.

Totals

Income: $198 (not including free product/credit)

Expenses: $302

Net Income: -$105

So I invested a bit. I got a lot of great information and I’m really looking forward to getting started actually filling out my productivity guide and writing my book. There’s so much that came with the toolkit that I’m going cross-eyed. My goal for next month is to not have any expenses. I justified buying these courses by counting it as my Christmas gift from my parents and my husband.

I’m most proud of the increase in pageviews. I need to work on rebranding my old images and start working on my book. I think my productivity guide will help with that as well.

Keep it up your amazing efforts. Love your blog by the way!
